Interior Design
The strategy was to build a social experience around pedicures and manicures in this luxury, female-only spa, creating a go-to destination for the wealthy clientele of the prestigious Alhazm Mall.
Continuing the successful relationship with Margaret Dabbs, Shed was appointed as sole architect and designer for the brand’s second overseas health and beauty clinic, located in the luxury Alhazm Mall in Doha, Qatar.
The design had to hold its own amongst The Mall’s blue chip luxury brands, so understated minimalism was not the order of the day. The interior needed to be rich in ritual, decadence and indulgence. We wanted customers to take away an experience.
The clinic encapsulated the pinnacle of luxury wellness, inviting clients into the world of fabulous hands and feet. a cult following has ensured, becoming the destination spa of the Alhazm Mall.
Contemporary Luxury
A soft interior scheme of polished gold fixtures, marble, stencilled polished plaster, and weightless sheer curtains with mood lighting delivers a tranquil and soothing environment.
Located on the first floor of a women-only building at the mall, upon arrival you are greeted with a signature polished gold welcome desk, and bespoke velvet sofa designed by Shed. From here a clear vista through into the spa reveals the architectural form of the treatment rooms.
Creating a Social Experience
Enter the drum-shaped rooms through marble-lined thresholds and find private rooms for single or multi-person treatments.
One of the drums houses a purified salt room, where the air is controlled and the walls are lined like a salt cave, to aid respiratory ailments as well as full body relaxation and mediation.
