A truly diverse spectrum of Royal Warrent luxury, William & Son of Mayfair is a distinctively British take on the finest things in life and no surprise when you remember William Asprey is a seventh generation Asprey.
After working with William Asprey on the Mount Street store, Shed was asked to create a new retail flagship for William & Son. An extension of the product it houses, quirky in places, luxurious with an appreciation for detail.
A modern Great British emporium of luxury.
Bring calm and order to the sometimes idiosyncratic taste and personality of the owner. Always let the exquisite products breathe and let the design reflect these qualities whilst bringing order. In many respects, the approach was reminiscent of a 1930’s deco emporium born in an era of grandeur coupled with a subtle sense of humour.
An interior design and architectural scheme reflecting the true spirit of William & Son, always distinct, crafted beautifully and uniquely British.
MODERN BRITISH HERITAGE
On entering, a grand bespoke staircase rises up. Shed designed bespoke terrazzo treads with ‘backgammon’ motifs edging balustrades. This grand statement wraps around a three-metre high, walnut cabinetry, showcasing a glossary of objet d’art on offer.
All aspects of the scheme reflected the true spirit of William & Son, always distinct, crafted and uniquely British.
THE GUNROOM
The signature of the store is the W&S Gunroom. This double height space required sensitive heritage renovation. William’s collection of hand crafted shotguns and taxidermy fill the room in a slightly eccentric fashion.
The existing building was once a working barn, reputedly part of the old Mayfair Manor Farm.
